Hopewell Children’s Ministries News
 
Sunday, May 12th
Happy Mother’s Day to all of our wonderful Hopewell moms. We hope your day is blessed with lots of love!!
9:30am – Sunday school for all children ages 3 years (by 9/1/12) to 5th Grade. Room assignments are posted throughout the church hallways.
 
10:55am – Junior Church for ages 3 years (by 9/1/12) to 6th Grade. Children should proceed to worship with their families and then join our Jr Church leaders at the specified time in the service. Junior Church is in Room Adam.
 
**The Creative Arts Signing Choir will be performing at the Contemporary Services this Sunday. 
 
Note: Our Sunday night programming is over for the school year. Have a great summer and we will see you again on Sunday nights in the Fall!!!

UPCOMING EVENTS
New!! Music & Drama Camp – For children entering 4th to 6th grade in the fall will be July 28th to August 1st, in the evenings. The children will be presenting ‘Go, Go Jonah!’ The cost is $20 for the first child and $10 for each additional child. Registration forms can be found in the church lobby, and on the church website (http://www.hopewellumc.org/SummerPrograms). The registration deadline is Sunday, July 14th. 
 
Reminder!! April Sunday school Mission – You can still bring in your banks for the April ‘Charity Water’ mission. This is an organization that helps to bring clean, safe drinking water to developing countries. This mission will continue this summer at VBS in hopes to provide a community freshwater well to one of these developing countries.    
Needed!! VBS Craft & Hands-on-mission Donations Needed – As we prepare to greet hundreds of children during our week of Vacation Bible School, we are in need of multiple items for our crafts and hands-on missions stations.  Please consider donating items from the list below.   All donations can be placed in the ‘Children’s Ministries’ bin in the donation station located outside of the FLC.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated!!!

Tennis balls (new or used)                 
Contact Paper (any kind/color)
Parchment paper                                
Whole wheat flour                           
Oats (tall containers)
Nail polish (any color)                        
Apple sauce (plain)

VBS 2013’Son West Round-Up’ – Registration has begun!! Registration forms can be found on-line (http://www.hopewellumc.org/SummerPrograms) and in the church lobby. We will again offer two VBS experiences this year:
Evening VBS (for 4 years old by 9/1/2013 to 5th Grade) – July 14th to 18th (6pm to 8pm)
Morning VBS (for 4 years old by 9/1/2013 to 5th Grade) – July 15th to 19th (9am to 12pm)
 
We need VBS volunteers!!! If you can help for any amount of time that week, or with prep work leading up to VBS, please contact Michele Zincone at 973-464-7970 or michelezincone@yahoo.comChild care is provided for all volunteers with children too young to participate in VBS. 
 
All students entering grade 6 and up are welcome to be VBS volunteers as well. Volunteer forms for students can be found on-line and in the church lobby. Please contact Cheri Miller at 610-269-1545 or cheri@hopewellumc.org with any questions. 
 
Hopewell UMC Sponsored Day Camp at Innabah – for children ages 4 to 7 will be June 24th to 28th (all day)This experience includes a daily, fun-filled bus ride from Hopewell’s parking lot. This is a great first-time experience for young campers with many familiar faces as camp leaders. Registration forms for Camp Innabah are located in the lobby. Camp cash is available for this camp, see Patty or Cheri for details. 
 
Mom’s Group – We meet every Tuesday during the school year from 9:15 to 11:15 am. Child care is provided. This is a wonderful group of women who meet for Bible study, fellowship and prayer support. Please contact Cheri Miller at cheri@hopewellumc.org
 
SERVING OPPORTUNITIES
We are always looking for volunteers and offer a wide variety of serving opportunities with varying time commitments.  If you are interested in plugging in and would like to discuss your "fit" in more detail, please contact Cheri or Patty.
 
Children’s Ministry Community Outreach - Children’s Ministries at Hopewell continues to partner with Maranatha Christian School in Coatesville. We will be assisting with lunch aide (11:00am-12:30pm on Mondays and Fridays) and after school programming (3:30-5:30 pm on Mondays and Fridays). If you are interested in participating and can donate time during one of these time slots, please contact Patty Wiehler in the church office, or at patty@hopewellumc.org This can be a weekly, biweekly or monthly commitment.  Children are welcome to accompany you in all cases. It has been a great joy to witness the relationships building among the children!!
