Mom's Group

 

Hopewell’s Tuesday Morning Mom’s Group is a great group of moms that are having fun, and are supporting one another through various issues that women face, including child rearing, spiritual growth, and personal issues.  If you are new to the area, or looking to meet other mothers in a Christian environment, the Tuesday Morning Mom’s Group is here to welcome you and make you feel right at home. 

 

Our group is open to any mother in the community that desires to attend and there is no attendance policy (or fee) – just jump in and come when able. Hopewell provides child care during the meeting for your younger ones in a loving and safe environment. Babies are always welcome in meetings for breastfeeding mothers.  Our group meets every Tuesday from 9:15 am to 11:15 am at Hopewell United Methodist Church, in the Adult Ministry room. Here are some typical activities from our year:
 

We offer two Christian based studies for women to participate in. On a weekly basis we have outside reading and then discussions during the meetings, which help our spiritual growth and understanding. Our studies have covered topics such as exploring the New and Old Testaments, understanding our purpose in God’s plan, finding joy and discussing difficult parenting issues.
Prayer Groups – Each week our group splits into mini-groups of four to five women. This enables us to get to know each other on a personal level and to share our concerns, joys, fears and lean on one another for prayer and support.
 

During the year, our group selects missions to contribute to – this is a great way to give back and feel fulfilled. In the past the Mom’s Group:
• Sponsored two Compassion children
• Created and donated 15 shoeboxes to Operation Christmas Child
• Created and donated 14 goodie baskets to support the Hopewell Youth Auction
• Purchased, wrapped and delivered Christmas presents for three Families with a total of 10 children
• Donated food to the Coatesville Food Pantry
• Delivered crayons and scrapbook pages to Acres of Love in South Africa.  We made new crayons by melting old crayons and pouring them into molds and made scrapbook pages without photos.  These pages were copied so the kids at Acres of Love could add their own pictures and put them in their scrapbooks.
• Created and donated 12 Easter baskets to Hopewell for distribution within the Coatesville community.
