Donation Station

 

As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called to feed those who are hungry. Hopewell's Donation Station plays a big role in our effort to reach out to our neighbors and community. Every day, more than 70,000 people in Chester County go to bed hungry. Many of these families do not have the resources to adequately feed their children, especially over the weekend. Good nutrition over the weekend helps children return to school on Monday morning feeling well and ready to learn.

"Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor."

On February 10th a group of Hopewellers toured the Chester County Food Bank and delivered over 300 cans of chicken and tuna for its “Backpack Program.” This program provides kindergarten-aged children with food each Friday, ensuring that they have a protein-based meal over the weekend. What an opportunity for us to fill these backpacks with healthy food for hungry children!

Hopewell is requesting donations of the following items to fill additional backpacks:

 

Needed Donation Items


Small cans or pouches of tuna, chicken or beef
Small jars of peanut butter
Fruit cups packed in 100% juice/apple sauce cups
100% fruit juice boxes
Healthy cereal (12-16 oz.)
Macaroni & Cheese
Pouches of Pasta Sides Pouches of Pasta Meals
Ready Rice boxed grains
Shelf-stable milk (Parmalat)
Individually Wrapped / Single Serving Healthy Snacks, including: raisins, dried fruit, yogurt cereal bars, fruit-filled cereal bars, Fruit Roll-Ups,
Granola bars, crackers (plain, peanut butter, cheese), instant pudding

Please place your donations downstairs by the Family Life Center at the Donation Station, in the large Backpack Program bin (far right).
