As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called to feed those who are hungry. Hopewell's Donation Station plays a big role in our effort to reach out to our neighbors and community. Every day, more than 70,000 people in Chester County go to bed hungry. Many of these families do not have the resources to adequately feed their children, especially over the weekend. Good nutrition over the weekend helps children return to school on Monday morning feeling well and ready to learn.
"Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor."
Proverbs 22:9 (NLT).
On February 10th a group of Hopewellers toured the Chester County Food Bank and delivered over 300 cans of chicken and tuna for its “Backpack Program.” This program provides kindergarten-aged children with food each Friday, ensuring that they have a protein-based meal over the weekend. What an opportunity for us to fill these backpacks with healthy food for hungry children!
